Paragon Studio shares details of exclusive gym design for a Knightsbridge property

Paragon Studio is delighted to present you with this fully resolved gym design for a beautiful duplex apartment in London’s iconic Cadogan Square.

The apartment was completely refurbished by the owners through the course of 2023 and was originally two separate dwellings built in the Victorian era. The properties were connected and turned into a single residence for the owner who has a keen interest in retaining peak physical condition and following a healthy lifestyle.

Paragon Studio were commissioned by the owner to design a stylish gym space with careful consideration for sustainability and environmental impact, and to provision a selection of bespoke equipment pieces in oak and steel. The studio, based in Bath, UK, also made the recommendations for supplementary accessories and flooring.

“This was an ambitious project, the gym was previously a living room! It’s located in the corner of the building and now enjoys a dual aspect view. The client sought a calm and modern space to exercise in and was encouraged by our extensive use of natural materials. We needed to save space wherever possible and maximise the floor space – this resulted in the creation of our first triple wall storage unit, which has an innovative module to hold both dumbbells and kettlebells.” – Ben Walter, Account Manager, Paragon Studio

The triple wall storage unit has now become a staple in the Paragon Studio range, providing a vertical storage system for many of their much-loved equipment pieces.

Reducing noise was also key to the project’s success, and Paragon Studio selected low impact machines to minimise impact to other residences elsewhere in the building.

Equipment pieces to feature in the newly designed gym include a 10-pair set of Paragon Studio’s own Diabolo free weights and four Paragon kettlebells, a NoHrd Slim Beam – which is a smart and compact cable training unit, a TRX system, Paragon Studio designer punch bag with matching boxing gloves, leather medicine balls, a Concept2 rowing machine, an adjustable bench, and various yoga accessories made from cork. High-end finishes of natural oak, stainless steel, and leather run throughout to give a uniformly luxurious look.

From commissioning design brief through to finished installation, the gym was concluded within four months. The completed project is a perfect illustration of how to create a beautiful but fully functional home gym.
